Historical Section 1945-46 Season - Epsom Town FC This is a match programme from a Corinthian League Subsidiary Cup match against Champions elect Grays Athletic, played at the Old Halleyburians Rugby Club, Ruxley Lane on Saturday 27th April 1946. Epsom Town managed to win this game 3-2, but although no one knew it at the time, the Subsidiary Cup would never be completed and Epsom Town would never play another home game. They played a final League match at Maidenhead United seven days later, losing 1-0 and quietly slipped out of existence, being unable to cope with the need to use a ground in the Borough that wasn't West Street. Ironically, this ground is still an open space within the Borough at a time when we are still searching for one!
