Welcome to the latest Club update.
On the field We have had two matches this week, both of which were tight games. We won one and lost one, both by a score line of 1-0.
Tuesday's win over Mole Valley SCR was a narrow affair, decided by a great chip from twenty yards from Kyle Hough. However, on Saturday, the best move of the game came from the visitors who worked a man over on the left and squared the ball for an easy finish.
The strange thing is that we created much more on Saturday than we had four days previously and I feel that we were well deserving of the three points against Bedfont Sports, while the Mole Valley game probably should have been a draw.
The moral of this story is that we need to take our chances and if we can, we will more than hold our own in the top ten and quite possibly finish higher than that.
This week we have two more home games; firstly on Tuesday when Knaphill are the visitors for a League Cup last 32 tie and then on Saturday when Ashford Town (Middx) play us in a League match. We beat Knaphill recently, but they have recently beaten Bedfont Sports and we haven't, so there should be no complacency here. As for the current second placed team, they recently drew with Spelthorne Sports while we beat them, so conversely there should be no fear here. Both games will I expect be tight encounters and well worth coming along to High Road to support your team, so why not come on down!
Off the field We are now actively pursuing sponsorship in all shapes and sizes. If you are a regular supporter, you will know how finances are tight at our club as we aim to return to our home Borough. We need your help as the more of our money we are able to retain, the more interest we can generate, and this is particularly important over this next eighteen months. We will shortly be announcing a new kit sponsor for which we are very grateful and we have many other smaller packages available. Please see the front page latest news section for more details or just ask a Committee Member.
Come on you Salts!
