Welcome to the latest Club update. Also, welcome to any new visitors this week, following the Twitter launch on Sunday. I hope you like what you see here.
We keep facing tests on the pitch at the moment, but all credit to our lads, they are passing every one so far.
We have come through some really difficult matches so far and further to my point last week, both us and Camberley put the pressure squarely on the non-playing South Park. We now sit two points behind them, but are in superb form as we look forward to two more tricky League encounters this week, at Raynes Park Vale and at Westfield.
Against Farnham on Saturday, we were able to face a challenge of our own making, as we gifted the visitors a two goal head start, but three goals in ten minutes turned the match on its head and we came away with the points. It was the first time we had won a game after trailing by two goals at the half for over 33 years, which is quite a scary length of time when you think about it!
We also had a scare at Raynes Park when we let a two goal lead slip and had to win the match with ten men to keep our club record winning run going last season. Of course, the Raynes Park win was the last of our twelve match run at the time, and we go there on Tuesday, weather permitting, hoping to keep our current one going. It is at six currently.
These two matches are yet again versus teams in the top ten, but if you want to win the title, these are the sort of games you have to win as we know that our rivals for the title will probably win both of them. Still, confidence is high and all things being good I'll be able to report on another two wins this time next week. Fingers crossed!
Come on you Salts!
