After a quick break, where I was incredibly fortunate not to miss an Epsom match, welcome to the latest Editorial.

I can also report that following a three week rest, Epsom & Ewell FC finally played another match, and it was a tough one too, against third placed Molesey. The Moles were unbeaten in seven matches but we were unbeaten in five ourselves and with just one away defeat all season, could have taken the lead right at the start. However, as with many of the meetings between the two clubs there was little between the sides and this time it was our turn to get a late winner as Alex McGregor was in the right place at the right time to take advantage of Mark Jarman's challenge on the home keeper.

The win places us back up in second, but we are still seven points adrift of South Park. For now they are not our concern. We just have to keep winning our own matches and see where it takes us. As a result a very important home game with Mole Valley SCR looms on Saturday but the squad is fairly fit now with exception of Jamie Hatfield who will be returning shortly from a broken wrist, and further good news is that Carl Downs has served his one game suspension incurred for reaching five bookings.

Before the big League match we face Chipstead in the Surrey Senior Cup in a rematch of our Southern Combination Cup tie a few weeks back. Since then they have changed their Manager although I imagine this match might not be too high on his priorities right now. The third round of this competition has recently been drawn and the winners will host Woking in the last 16 so maybe that will add to the excitement on what looks like being a cold one at High Road.

Come on you Salts!
